Environment Support Group conducted  a three day summer workshop for children to help understand the basics of farming, the importance of food, conservation of natural resources and environmental stewardship, in fostering healthy communities. The workshop gave opportunities for children to learn where their food comes from; learn about traditional and appropriate farming practices, about healthy soils, beneficial insects, intelligent use of water and working with the environment to grow safe food.By participating in the summer camp, children learnt to appreciate social, ecological and economic dimensions of farming and also appreciate what it takes to become good stewards of the soil, seeds, water and biodiversity. The workshop helped enquire the consequences of current farming practices on our society, human health, our climatic conditions and the earth as a whole.
