ESG in partnership with the Karnataka Judicial Academy, Bangalore and the Environmental Law Institute, USA conducted a two-day Workshop on “Judicial Enforcement Of Environmental Law In Karnataka”.  Conducted in August 2002, this workshop was specifically for subordinate (lower court) judiciary.  The goal of this program was to strengthen the judiciary’s capacity to enforce environmental laws and regulations at the lower court level.  Participants included 25 judges of the subordinate judiciary in Karnataka, 10 public prosecutors from Karnataka and 5 representatives from NGOs.
