A public consultation on “ROAD WIDENING SCHEMES OF BENGALURU: IMPACTS AND ALTENATIVES” was jointly organised by Environment Support Group (ESG), Civic and Alternative Law Forum (ALF), public interest not for profit organisations responding to governance, planning, social and environmental justice causes. The consultation was held under the banner of HASIRU USIRU on 20th December 2007 at Senate Hall of Central College, Bengaluru and was chaired by Mr. P. S. S. Thomas, former Secretary General of National Human Rights Commission and Advisor, Planning Commission.

On 19th July 2008, a workshop on "Reclaiming Bangalore’s roads: Namma Raste" was jointly organized by Environment Support Group, CIVIC Bangalore and Alternative Law Forum. The workshop was held between 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM at Vidyadeep, Ulsoor Road, Bangalore.

Excellent Response for Walk to Reclaim Bengaluru.

Hundreds turned up at Lal Bagh West Gate today to participate in the "Walk to Reclaim Bengaluru" organised under the aegis of Hasiru Usiru, a network of community organisations, residents associations, project affected communities, voluntary organisations and individuals concerned about protecting equitable access to public social spaces such as roads and parks in Bengaluru. Gracing the occasion were Mr Dinesh Gundu Rao (MLA, Gandhinagar), Ms. Premila Nesargi, Former Chairperson of the Karnataka Women's Commission. The Walk was also endorsed by Prof. B. K.

On 31st January 2009, a “Cycling Inclusive Planning Workshop” was jointly organized by Bangalore Metropolitan Land Transport Authority (BMLTA), EMBARQ, Interface for Cycling Expertise (I-CE), City Connect and RideACycle Foundation (RAC-F). The workshop was held between 9:00 AM -5:00 PM at the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation premises, Double Road, Bangalore.

Walking Down an Avenue between the Past and the Present
8th February 2009

Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) in collaboration with Environment Support Group (ESG) and The Avenue Road Commercial Association (TARCA) organised a Heritage Walk on Avenue Road on 8th February 2009. Twenty-five people participated in the walk. This event is part of the series of activities planned on Avenue Road to raise consciousness amongst people of Bangalore on the heritage of the road and its significance to Bangalore.
