Nice talk fails to move govt
BANGALORE, DHNS:
The Revenue Department is learnt to have taken exception to the move by the promoters of Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project to change the location of the land required for the project in violation of the project plan.
Sources said the Revenue Department has decided against accepting the proposal of Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) -- the project promoters -- seeking change of location of land to be acquired from Mandya district to Bangalore Rural district.
The NICE company, which was supposed to get about 530 acres of land in Mandya district for the project, is learnt to have sought that these many acres of land be allotted in Bangalore Rural district citing non availability of land in Mandya district. However, the Revenue department is said to have objected to such a change of location in violation of road alignment plan. “How can a road project site be changed in violation of road alignment plan,” the department officials wondered. The department has put on hold a file seeking such a change of location, the sources said.
