Mr.Krishna said that there was a rise in the number of politicians who shed “crocodile tears” to gain sympathy. “We have a senior politician who is ready to shed tears at any given point of time without the help of glycerine,” he said in an obvious reference to Mr. Gowda who had on Sunday alleged that Mr. Krishna and chief secretary B.S. Patil had shown undue favours to the Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise executing the Mysore express in the highway project. “Increasing communal and caste tensions which are tearing apart the very fabric of our tearing society, are hurting our borders,” Mr. Krishna said in the course of his speech.
