Leo F. Saldanha
As Founding Trustee and Coordinator of ESG, Leo has led several of ESG’s campaigns including the termination of Karnataka Government’s contract with the controversial Cogentrix power project, developed a wide platform of support to end mining in the Kudremukh National Park, initiated a variety of reviews on the controversial Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Project and championed several causes by way of Public Interest Litigations in the High Court of Karnataka and Supreme Court of India. He is an active participant in campaigns to protect and promote green and open spaces, in ensuring equal access to public spaces, and advocating against contamination of settlements of un-organised and poorer communities.

His areas of research include Environmental Law and Policy, Local Governance Legislation and Policies, Child Labour Law and Experiential Education methodologies. He is also the Country Coordinator of the “Cities in the 21st Century” and Country Coordinator/Faculty of the “Health and Communities” courses offered by International Honors Programme of Boston University. This programme is an inter-disciplinary and experiential approach to urban issues and students drawn from leading universities across the US study cities in India, South Africa, Brazil and the USA over a semester.

K. R. Mallesha Mallesha is Office Coordinator at ESG. He has a decade long experience working with NGOs and is office administrator and coordinates documentation and ESG's Press Campaigns. He assists in coordinating the Solid Waste Management initiative and is involved in field organizing for various campaign initiatives. He has a background in Social Sciences from the Bangalore University
Bhargavi S. Rao Bhargavi S. Rao graduated in Environmental Science and is a Botanist with an M’Phil degree in Aerobiology from Bangalore University. Her initial research experience was in the areas of Microbiology and Cell Biology and she has worked at the Microbiology and Cell Biology Department of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. She has co-authored research papers in journals like Current Science and Virology. She has had teaching experience as a lecturer in Botany and Microbiology at The BMS College for Women, Bangalore and also as a high School Teacher in Geography and Economics at the Sri Aurobindo Memorial School, Bangalore.

She coordinates educational programmes at ESG with a focus on enhancing student awareness and critical engagement in social and environmental justice issues. She has co-worked as Coordinator of the India sector of the ‘Cities of the 21st Century’ and ‘Health and Community’ courses of the International Honors program. Her interests include Environmental Education, Experiential Education, Gender Issues, Environmental health and Urban and Community studies.

Gitanjali Mahanti Gitanjali handles documentation and Library tasks at ESG and assists with documentational support for ESG campaigns and Projects. She holds a Masters degree in Sociology (Urban and Rural Management).
Harminder Kaur Harminder handles Website maintenance at ESG. She also assists in Content Management such as Brochures, Posters, Leaflets, etc for ESG Campaigns and Projects. As part of the Community Access Project in Raichur, she helped develop Solid Waste Management Posters and Leaflets for Community Education and a Comic book for children on Waste Management. Her interests are in Gender issues and issues concerning Dalits and oppressed communities. She holds a Masters degree in Ecology and Environment.
Dolly Kalita Dolly is a Legal Research and Campaigns Assistant at ESG. She holds an LLB from Symbiosis Society's Law College - Pune and a Masters in Environmental Law from University Law College, Bangalore.
Nandini Chami Nandini has completed her M.A in Urban & Rural Community Development from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai in May 2007. During her M.A, she worked on issues of contract labour in conservancy work of the Municipal Corporation and the implementation of the Slum Rehabilitation Scheme in Mumbai. Since then, she has been working as a Research Associate with Environment Support Group, Bangalore. Specifically, she has worked on ESG's campaign questioning Karnataka State Government's arbitrary siting of a 1000 MW power plant at Chamalapura, Mysore district.
Divya Ravindranath Divya Ravindranath has completed her M.A in Social Work (Urban & Rural Community Development) from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai in May 2007. During her M.A, she worked on the issue of housing rights in with slum-dwellers whose houses were demolished and issues of contract labour in conservancy work of the Municipal Corporation. Before joining Environment Support Group, she worked in a TISS project in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands that aimed at helping communities build Information and Community Resource Centers. As part of ESG's campaign to save Bangalore's green cover and lakes, she has worked and researched on issues of urban planning and infrastructure
Priya Priya is an assistant documentalist and office support person.
